As an award-winning reporter, Brent Solomon has spent time in newsrooms in Savannah, Albany, Tampa, and New York city. In January of 2008, Brent came to Arkansas to join the team at FOX16 News. Each day, he finds something new that he loves about the Natural State!
After graduating from the University of Florida, he was honored by his college with the "Professional Promise" award for his reporting and anchoring. Brent then went on to receive several professional awards. One of those include a series from West Africa, where Brent reported on young African leaders' working to implement change in their countries by the year 2010.
During his career, Brent has interviewed a host of influential people including Senator John Edwards, the Rev. Jessee Jackson, Ambassador Andrew Young, even Ron Devoe from the R&B group New Edition. Still, Brent says what he enjoys most about his job is meeting everyday Arkansans, each with their own story.
Brent loves volunteering, mentoring, and being a positive example for youth. He attends church regularly and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the National Association of Black Journalists. Brent lives by the motto "To whom much is given, much is required."
