Deedra Wilson joined the Little Rock news team in January 2012.
A southern girl who has spent her career as a journalist working from Texas to Tennessee, she got her start in news radio as a morning show producer at 740 KTRH in Houston.
Deedra then got her first shot in television news at KTVE Region 10 News in Monroe, Louisiana before moving on to Shreveport as a morning anchor. Later, Deedra packed up and moved to Music City to work in Nashville, Tennessee.
After that she took an opportunity in Beaumont, Texas where she worked as the producer and anchor of the 5PM newscast and later launched the 6:30PM newscast when the station acquired the NBC affiliate. There, Deedra produced and hosted a weekly public affairs show - Southeast Texas Weekly and a weekly segment called Star Student.
Deedra served on the Board of Directors for the ARC of Greater Beaumont and the Shorkey, both serving kids with Autism. She also served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA. She has spent a lot of time working with DESK (Donating Educational School Supplies to Kids) raising thousands of dollars for students in the Golden Triangle, along with the March of Dimes, Southeast Texas Food Bank and countless other organzations giving of her spare time to volunteer for their cause.
She hopes to work with an adult literacy program, inner city schools and the Boys and Girls Club while in Little Rock.Click here
