Dustin Barnes joined the FOX 16 News team December 2010.

Before coming to Little Rock, Dustin spent 2 ½ years in Jackson, Mississippi, reporting at WDBD-TV. Dustin's most memorable story involved a woman who regained her vision through a groundbreaking surgery. She had been blind for nine years. She had only seen one of her eight grandchildren. Dustin won an Associated Press Award for his coverage.

Raised in Jonesboro, Louisiana, Dustin began his career at KNOE-TV in Monroe. It was an honor to report at a station he had grown up watching all of his life. While there, he covered the Jena 6 court case and the subsequent march which brought thousands of protesters and scores of national civil rights leaders to the small northern Louisiana town.

Dustin is a summa cum laude graduate of Grambling State University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Broadcasting. In addition to working at the campus radio station and hosting campus events, Dustin became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and the National Association of Black Journalists.

In his spare time, Dustin enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, visiting new restaurants, and meeting new people.

He is thrilled to be in Little Rock and covering Arkansas. Feel free to e-mail story ideas to dbarnes@fox16.com.
