I am really getting a kick out of watching our newscast producers
Steve Shuler and
Kristi Cheek do their work on the Walkstation. I must say they are both quite committed to following through each day. They are spending about three hours of their day walking and working. Sometimes in the evenings Kristi will get on the Walkstation just to warm up a bit if it's cold in the newsroom. It only goes up to 2 miles an hour but it's a nice casual stroll allowing you to type on the computer, talk on the phone and so on.
I hope Steve and Kristi realize that this experiment will go on for a couple of months at least. I want to see if they can shed the pounds, increase their concentration and reduce some of the stress from the job. The makers of the Walkstation are hoping it will appeal to companies that want to keep their workers healthy and cut down on visits to the doctor.
Kristi said she's already lost a few pounds. Trust me, I'll be keeping tabs on both of them!
I have yet to try to do my work from the Walkstation but I plan to give it a try real soon. I'll let you know how it goes.
