Kris Allen in the final 8!

We're less than two months away from finding out who will be the next American Idol, and only eight contestants remain in the running. UCA's Kris Allen survived another week of the finals, after singing an amazing arrangement of "Ain't No Sunshine." He got rave reviews from all four of the American Idol judges, and garnered enough votes to keep him in the contest for at least another week.

Unfortunately for Megan Joy Corkrey, she received the lowest number of votes, and since the judges opted not to use the judge's save, she was booted from the contest.

The Idols take the stage again next Tuesday night at seven on FOX16, with the results show on Wednesday. And I'll have my Idol Minds segment each night on FOX16 News At Nine.
