Boy oh boy, what a rollercoaster ride of temperatures we're in the middle of. It seems that Mother Nature can't decide if it is still fall, or to skip ahead to winter! For the next week temperatures will hover between the 50s and 60s for highs, and the 20s, 30s, and 40s for lows. It is a sure sign that we are still in the transitional period of the seasons. We've been lucky to escape severe weather. This time is typically the end of the secondary severe weather season in Arkansas, and so far, we've had no outbreaks. The outlook for the winter calls for above normal temperatures, and above normal amounts of precipitation. So that could mean more rain, and less ice and snow for the Natural State.

Tomorrow night Arkansas on a Tankful heads to the Panther Valley Ranch in Hot Springs. It is a great destination for couples looking to get away from the city, but still be close enough to downtown Hot Springs to experience all the action. And next week, we begin our Holiday editions of Arkansas on a Tankful. A preview of next week's story about the Land of Enchanted Lights and Legends in Pine Bluff can be seen in a couple of the pictures included in the slideshow of this blog. (Believe it or not, it only takes one flip of a switch to activate 1.2 miles of lights.)

And The Weather Challenge is wrapping up a busy year full of elementary school visits. Today I traveled to Mabelvale Elementary and took on the entire fifth grade. The students had a blast, and many of them can be see in this blog's slideshow. And they gave me a Mabelvale Elementary School mug! Perfect for apple cider and hot cocoa in the colder weather.
