If your TV failed the digital broadcast test and you are receiving FOX16 via an over-the-air antenna, please consult your owners manual for the converter box and make sure you have properly followed the installation instructions.

If you cannot find your manual, these instructions may help.

One major difference in the set-up of digital TV compared to analog TV is that you must go into the menu of your converter box and tell the box to scan for the digital channels. Without performing this task your converter box will not be able to receive any digital television stations.

Please note, a converter box will be required for each analog TV in your home.

You do not need a special antenna to receive digital broadcasts. Any antenna that can receive analog broadcasts can also receive digital broadcasts. If you have questions about the direction you should point your antenna, please visit antennaweb.org for this information.

I have a digital TVI have a digital TV

All TVs shipped after March 1, 2007 were required by law to have a digital tuner. There were sets manufactured before that date that had digital tuners and sets sold after that date, but manufactured before that date, that do not have digital tuners.

To tell if your set has a digital tuner, look at the front of the set or the literature that came with it for words like "Integrated Digital Tuner," "Digital Receiver," "ATSC," "DTV," "HDTV," or "Digital Tuner." However, words like "HD-ready" or "HDTV monitor" indicate that the TV is capable of displaying digital pictures but does not have a built-in tuner.

If you have purchased a Digital TV and are unable to receive our digital signal, you may need to check your owners manual and review the set-up procedures involved to program your TV to receive the Digital Channels. You will most likely need to have your TV scan the available channels to locate the digital signal.

Please note, you do not need a special antenna to receive digital broadcasts. Any antenna that can receive analog broadcasts can also receive digital broadcasts. If you have questions about the direction you should point your antenna, please visit antennaweb.org for this information.

I don't knowI don't know what I have

If you have cable, you will receive several (or many) channels besides FOX, CW, ABC, NBC, and CBS and their channels may not match the local channel number. For instance, FOX16 may not be on channel 16. Click here for troubleshooting cable problems.

If you have satellite, it will look much like cable with many channels but a special box, usually with a DirecTV or Dish Network logo, will be required to receive the satellite signal. Click here for troubleshooting satellite problems.

If you only receive a few local channels, you are most likely using an antenna and will need a converter box to receive digital broadcasts. Please refer to the coupon section for information on getting a coupon for a converter.
