I have a hydranga that I just found out that I have been pruning wrong. I have been cutting it back to the ground after it freezes and then it doesn't produce any flowers the next year, although the plant itself looks great and healthy. Have I ruined my flowering hydranga or will it bloom again next year if I leave it alone? I know now that I should only be cutting off the dead branches and not doing a hard prune. Myself and other gardeners I know are getting very few and sometimes no blooms on our tomato plants. My plants are 2/3 feet tall and healthy. What gives? My daughter bought me 2 azaela trees with twisted trunks. I have never had luck with azaelas in pots and am worried how I will care for these trees. They are about 3 feet high and in complete bloom at the moment. Please help, I don't want to kill them. I have room to keep them indoors. My house back faces south with no shelter from the sun. Hi, Our family has lived in Arkansas for almost one year now. We tried, with limited success, to add more landscaping around our yard last year. We did not do well with azaleas; we bought about a dozen and they all died except the two we left in containers. My question for Gregg: What are your "favorite" Arkansas plants for really filling up a fairly empty yard. We have some boxwoods and hollies already. We love English Laurel shrubs and also honeysuckle vine, but I'm not sure how they will do in the heat. Are there any vines that do well in the heat and full sun?
