The audition rounds of American Idol are over. Now it's off to hollywood. One of those golden ticket holders is back in Arkansas. Idol hopeful Charity Vance is back at home.
FOX16's Jeremy Baker caught up with Charity and she says getting to Hollywod was unexpected. "I just figured I'm sixteen, I've always watched the show, I'm going to try out and I really wasn't thinking I was going to make it as far as I have and it's been incredible."
But the reason she is in town isn't Idol related. She's one of many performing in Arkansans for Haiti Relief, a benefit concert this Friday. And lucky for the show's producers, Charity is on break. "They saw my audition in Chicago, and contacted me, and our schedules aligned and so I figured I really wanted to be involved with this."
Even with her busy schedule, Charity is thrilled to be able to help. "To be able to help them in any way. I know that's how everybody feels. We want to help them, so it's a blessing to be able to do anything for them."
Roughly 200 people have made it to Hollywood. That includes Arkansans Keia Johnson, Charity Vance, Zachary Hickman, and David Pittman.
Make sure to watch FOX16 next week both Tuesday and Wednesday, when American Idol goes to Hollywood, and those four from the natural state try to make it to the live shows and Idol's top 24.
