Are you going through American Idol withdrawals? Fear not because we have your idol fix. You may recall leading up to last weeks American Idol Finale FOX16 held a contest. The lucky winner got two tickets to the see the finale live. FOX16 tracked the winner down while he was in Hollywood and found out she and her husband were celebrating more than just Kris winning.
They came from all over the country to see not only the stars of Hollywood, but also to see who would be crowned the next American Idol. Buried in the middle of the red carpet madness were Erin and Matthew Hunt from Little Rock, Arkansas.
"Amazing... just amazing. I need to pinch myself to make sure I'm really here," Erin said. She won the FOX16 Idol finale giveaway. And when we told her, this was her reaction. "I actually asked the marketing director if he was Ashton Kutcher and if I was on Punk'd."
And when she told her husband: "I thought she was pulling my leg," Matthew said.
The couple got free airfare, free lodging and two tickets to the American Idol Finale. It also just happens to be their first year wedding anniversary. "This is a once in a lifetime chance and its just a wonderful experience. So thank you FOX 16," Erin said.
But before they headed in for the big show Erin showed me her high school year book and a picture of the Idol star himself in the tenth grade. Turns out she and Kris attended the same school.
After taking a stroll down memory lane, it was time for them to head inside the Nokia Theater where they, along with 7,100, got to see this incredible moment.
So what was it like for Erin and her husband to see all this unfold before their very eyes live and in person? "I cried. I cried. Shaking, crying, grabbing and holding my husband. I had goose bumps and my heart was racing. It's just amazing,” Erin said. “I was jumping up and down and screaming. Arkansas boy won it all," Matthew told us.
Besides watching Kris win American Idol, Erin and Matthew also went to Disneyland, Universal Studios and took a bus tour of all the celebrity homes.
