LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency wants to hire more than 30 Little Rock-area residents in temporary positions to help with Arkansas' disaster recovery.
FEMA and the
Arkansas Department of Workforce Services (DWS) will be recruiting and screening project engineers and writers, public information officers and record keepers, ordering and warehouse specialists, applicant service representatives and telecommunications specialists.
Anyone interested may obtain job descriptions and apply for FEMA positions only through a
Department of Workforce Services office.
Officials say preference will be given to residents who live within a 50-mile radius of Little Rock.
Applicants must present their resume and employment history to a DWS counselor, who will compare applicants' qualifications with FEMA's job descriptions looking for a match. Qualified candidates' application materials will be forwarded to FEMA staff.
