In many ways Dustin Rudder is like many 15 year olds.
He likes the zoo. He likes girls.
"I like to look at hot chicks sometimes."
He likes to go fast.
"I like to go off-roading."
He goes to camp in the summer.
"I like swimming. I like the zip line and talking to other people."
And he's looking forward to joining ROTC.
"It looked cool because they're letting people start to do different things like blow up and kill bad people."
Dustin's doing it all while living with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy.
He was diagnosed ten years ago.
"When he was younger, you know, he would just fall and he could still walk and he was kind of clumsy, and we knew something was wrong," says his father David.
His parents say every day is a challenge but Dustin can't do everything he'd like to do and wishes the children who can stay active, would.
"He has trouble understanding that he can't do it and he wants to do things," says his mother Nanette. "He gets upset when other children are not wanting to out and things, play sports and run around. That's his challenge. He would like for other kids to use what they have to use and it's a waste."
And Dustin is now thankful for the MDA telethon because it helps so much.
"They're trying to find a cure," David says. "It would help a lot of people
