MDA Telethon raises almost $400,000 on FOX16

Thanks to the generosity of Arkansans, the annual MDA Labor Day Telethon raised a record $397,768 over six hours on FOX16 Sunday night.

This year the telethon on FOX16 was only a third of the time it used to be yet Arkansans stepped up and pledged their money to help fight muscular dystrophy.

Some of the stars seen on the telethon were: Celine Dion, Jordan Sparks, Darius Rucker and Martina McBride.

Nationally the 2011 Telethon raised $61,491,393 -- up from the $58,919,838 achieved during the prior year’s 21.5-hour Telethon. This is the biggest Telethon achievement since 2008, when the global recession began.
