LANGLEY, Ark. (AP) — Searchers combing the Albert Pike Recreation Area found a German shepherd that survived last week's flash flooding, and now they're looking for its owner.

Searcher Shona (SHAWN-uh) Jordan says the dog approached them Monday as they were looking for victims from Friday's flooding that killed 20 people at the Albert Pike Recreation Area in southwest Arkansas. Jordan says the dog was hot and thirsty but otherwise OK.

Workers are now trying to find out who owns the dog.
