LANGLEY, Ark. (AP) — Searchers are fanning out across the Little Missouri basin in search of missing campers from Friday's massive flash flooding in southwest Arkansas.

The groups are going out for two hours at a time, taking mandatory breaks back at the command post to guard against heat stroke in the 97-degree heat. While in the woods, they look for anything that stands out against the tan pebbles and rocks in the riverbed — hoping that a brightly colored items would lead them to a survivor, or a victim.

Search coordinator Bud Bunson briefed teams before their work on Sunday and warned them they could encounter brush piles 20 to 30 feet high.

He also warned searchers to look for snakes and spiders and urged them to drink as much water as possible because of the heat.
