CADDO GAP, Ark. (AP) — Sen. Blanche Lincoln plans to tour the western Arkansas campground where flash flooding killed at least 16 people and left dozens more missing and feared dead.

Lincoln will be joined at the campground Saturday afternoon by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell.

Floodwaters that rose as swiftly as 8 feet an hour tore through the Albert Pike Recreation Area early Friday morning. The campground in the Ouachita (WAH'-shih-taw) National Forest had been packed with vacationing families.

Lincoln is chair of the Senate committee that oversees the Agriculture Department and Forest Service, both of which are assisting in the flood recovery effort.
