CADDO GAP, Ark. (AP) — Officials say the search for dozens of people missing after floodwaters tore through an Arkansas campground is to resume at daylight.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler and the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management say the search should resume at 6:30 a.m.

At least 16 people were killed early Friday when floodwaters that rose as swiftly as 8 feet an hour crashed through the Albert Pike Recreation Area. The campground in the Ouachita (WAH'-shih-taw) National Forest had been packed with vacationing families.

Crews plan to use ATVs, canoes and horses to search for missing people. The effort is expected to take several more days — and perhaps even weeks.
