The makers of
Bumpits promises to make your hair bigger, fuller and more voluminous. But are they a deal or a dud?
Commercial says: "Flat hair is so last year. Imagine being able to create today's hottest hairstyles in seconds."
Ann York's flowing blond hair will help us find out if Bumpits are a deal or a dud.
As per the instructions, Ann parts her hair across the crown, teases a little and places the Bumpits behind the hair line, and breaks out the hairspray.
Commercial says: "Need volume? Now you can go from flat to fabulous! Bumpits give you perfect volume and style every time!"
"I feel like my hair won't stay over it." Ann tries again and again and again "Pull it tight and spray!"
But each time, she can't get her hair to cover the Bumpits completely. It always peeks through. Ann says teasing works better. "You're going to be able to see the Bumpit."
Melissa Painter wanted to give it a try also. So she parted the hair, brushed up a bit, and placed the bump it. Teased around some "I can see the comb some. Right there. Now the hair is starting to fall and it's not wanting to stay."
A two dollar teasing comb seems to create the look, and there's no fear that a Bumpit might fall out of your head.
But Ann thinks Bumpits might work in one situation. "A professional doing it and they would still have to have lots of hairspray."
But for at home stylists hoping for that Hollywood look, is the Bumpit a deal or a dud? "Definitely a dud."
