Some women may spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a purse, men, quite a bit less on a wallet. But according to the people who make one gadget, you can organize your life for about ten bucks. We put the Slim Clip to the deal or dud test.

Commercial says: "Is that bulky wallet a pain in the (beep!)"

If the weight of your wallet is too much to manage and you'd rather forget about digging to find your funds, "What you need is the Slim Clip."

Then how about cashing in on this contraption? It is said to load your loot into less than a half inch.

"You're talking about stacks of receipts you know how wallets get."

In his job Miguel Melo is consumed by cash.

"Lots of organization definitely," says Melo.

And because he works at a credit union any cash coming in goes right back out. A convenient way to carry it could be the Slim Clip.

"The secret is the patented double sided tight clip that securely holds 30 bills on one side and 6 credit cards on the other," says the commercial.

We rounded up 6 cards and 30 bills, and went head-to-head with what is advertised on TV. The instructions say money should be folded and inserted. Cards should go in one at a time. But can it all stack up to less than a half inch?

"I don't know about that one," says Melo. "I wouldn't say ‘less’ but it’s pretty close."

But it passes our side-by-side shake test. And what about the daring demo: "No matter what the abuse you'll have a lifetime of use guaranteed!"

And after the blender test, "Seems like it will still be functional,” says Melo.

There were some surface scratches and one final heavy hurdle just like on TV.

"If it ever breaks or bends we'll send you a new one- no questions asked," claims the commercial.

After a Slim Clip stress test under the weight of an SUV, “It held up."

We went back inside to test if it's still fully functional. The cards and the cash again go in and the clip seems even more compact.

"It works even better now right?"

Could it be the tire test? Regardless of the reason, Miguel opinion, “I'd say a Deal."

How about that! If you think the Slim Clip will be a deal for you, you can get it at Walgreens for $9.99, or you can go to the official Slim Clip website, and get three of them for just 10 bucks, plus shipping of course.

Next week we put the Smart Swipe to the test. The makers say the product is supposed to make online shopping even safer. But is it a Deal or Dud? Tune in next week on FOX16 News.
