Deal or Dud: Washer Balls
For most people washing laundry is not something they look forward to. But the makers of Washer Balls promise to take the dirty work out of cleaning your clothes, and save you money. Is it a deal or a dud? A few months ago the Dryer Balls proved to be a deal, but what about the other half, The Washer Balls? We went to the Holiday Inn to try them out!Jeremy asks: "So Cliff, have you ever wanted something to come along that would make washing your clothes even easier? Cliff responds: "Yeah, save me time and money? I'd definitely like to use it! " Jeremy shouts: "Well you're in luck because you're gonna test out the Washer Balls!"Cliff couldn’t wait to tear them open. "It looks like there is little pellets of detergent in it," he said. That’s right, but how do you use them? Commercial says: "Allow room for Washer Balls to circulate between the laundry during the wash cycle. For small loads one Washer Ball, for large and extra large loads, two Washer Balls.”"One thing we're not going to need is detergent," Jeremy said. That could be a money saver right there! Cliff loads in some pretty dirty shirts and then adds the Washer Ball. "Alright, it's one load, one Washer Ball," Cliff said. Put in the money, hit cold wash, and we're off! After a while we looked in, and didn't see a layer of bubbles!Jeremy said: "The Washer Balls say you don't need to use your rinse cycle because they don't leave soapy residue. But Cliff do you think that would be a problem with these front load washers?” Cliff said: “I think it would be because our front load washers lock so you have to go all the way to the end of the cycle to get them open."We decided to let the rinse cycle go on anyway. "It’s on the final spin!"After the cycle was done we decided to take a look. "Is that dirt? That's dirt. Oooh, that dirt didn't come out," Jeremy said. Jeremy asks: "Okay Cliff they're called the Washer Balls, would you say they're a deal or a dud? “I would say the washer balls are a dud," Cliff said. So the dryer balls were a deal, but the Washer Balls, a dud. If you think the Washer Balls will be a deal for you, you can get them on the official Washer Ball website for $12.98 plus shipping. But we found them at Garden Ridge for $9.99.
