It begins with a knock at the door, and can end with you losing a ton of money.

Deputies in Cleburne County are warning people of a scam.

According to the sheriff's office, a person driving a brown SUV is going around knocking on doors, telling the homeowner they've just won a lottery sweepstakes.

But to claim the money, they have give personal information.

Deputies say if you come into contact with this person, don't give the person any information. Instead, pick up the phone and call the sheriff's office.
