He's a smooth talker, knows employee names and even their schedules - but according to Conway police, he's also a criminal.

His first target was The Children's Place on Elsinger Boulevard.

According to police, the man called the assistant manager, telling her he worked at the district office and needed money to settle a claim.

He then told her to wire $787 immediately and if she didn't, she would be fired.

She complied and sent the money.

24 hours later, a similar scenario unfolded at this Walgreen's on Oak Street.

This time, the employee wired $825 dollars.

Police say business owners need to pay attention.

"It can happen again if you're not paying attention and not warning your employees that this type of scam is going around and that they should be mindful of who they're talking about," LaTresha Woodruff with the Conway Police Department said.
