Little Rock and Searcy: Car break-insYou might want to make sure your car is locked up tight and nothing valuable is inside. Nearly 50 cars were broken into in one week in Searcy and Little Rock.
Searcy police are investigating 32 car break-ins. The crimes occurred between October 7th and the 15th in the following neighborhoods;
- Cloverdale
- Western Hills
- Jamestown
A majority of the cars were left unlocked. Those that weren't, the criminals used a drill to gain access.
In Little Rock police are investigating ten car break ins.
All of the crimes took place on October 12th up and down Germay Court, drive and blvd in a gated community in Chenal.
All of the cars were outside in the driveway and in each case the criminal broke the rear passenger side window.
Police in Little Rock and Searcy say the crimes are not related but they both issued these reminders.
- Keep your car inside your garage.
- Keep your garage door shut.
- Lock the door from your garage to your house.
- If you must park outside lock your car.
- Use tire locks
- Remove all valuables, especially your garage door opener.
