Three air conditioning units at a local church – stripped of their copper, causing more than $3,000 in damages.
The crime happened at the Temple Baptist Church Gospel on Wolfe Street.
Police say someone cut the copper tubing to at least three AC units – and even stole one of them. Copper thefts at homes and businesses are on the rise. As a result, police are urging everyone to secure their AC unit and even their breaker panels.
