Artistic students will have the chance to design debit cards for a local bank and win some spending money in the process.
First Arkansas Bank and Trust is hosting a contest that allows students from kindergarten through 12th grade to design their next series of instant-issue debit cards. It's a statewide competition called the "Community Card Project."
"We live in an age where businesses traditionally tell you as a consumer what is good for you and what you need," said First Arkansas Bank and Trust Marketing Director Roger Sundermeier. "We have taken a different approach by allowing the consumer in to our world, and help us design products and services that they want, need and prefer. The newest way that we are doing this is through the Community Card Project."
Five winners will received a $100 Visa gift card. The top vote-getter will receive an additional $250 card.
Interested students can pick up entry forms at any First Arkansas Bank location or on the company's Facebook page. Finalists will be selected at the end of March. Voting for winners will then open up on Facebook. Winners will be selected based off of the number of "shares" and "likes" a particular entry receives. Winners will be announced May 1st.
"We aren't necessarily looking for the best art, but we want designs that really showcase the spirit of young people and challenge them to show us their creativity," added Sundermeier.
