PCSSD rethinking bell schedule, costing tax payers more

After complaints from parents about the bell schedule PCSSD is rethinking it. Parents say the new schedule is not providing more instructional time as promised but it is costing more taxpayers more money.

school is not a day care it is for learning the people that are crying are the same ones that want free breakfest free lunch and free dinner and a free baby sitter little kids dont need to be up at 6:oo in the morning to go to school let the people that have to go to work that pay for the schools get to work then the busses can get on the road and it will be safer for everybody

Glad to see Hopson thinks that $400,000 is not a big deal because it is a small part of the budget. It is not like students don't have books or that the buildings aren't falling on their heads. I find it funny that Hopson's old district has shorter days than PCSSD used to. At the same time though he says that this was a district that was at the cutting edge but contradicts himself a second later by saying that to be progressive you have to have longer days. Personally from what I have seen at schools it is much more important to have quality over quantity especially at the elementary level which is where this is affecting.
