Close to 600 parents, teachers and students are demanding four Pulaski County Special School District board members to resign immediately. They say they have no confidence in Tim Clark, Charlie Wood, Danny Gilliland and Mildred Tatum.

So far 578 people signed the petition saying the four did not handle the Pulaski Association of Classroom Teachers, PACT, contract very well. They also accuse the four of violating the board's own code of ethics.

The note has been sent to all four members. So far none of the board members have responded to the petition.

A leader's greatest capital is their credibility. The actions of the majority of this Board over the course of the past 8 months one this and many other issues have proven time and time again that they lack the most basic and fundamental knowledge of basic business and management practices to oversee the operation of the district and of the basic rules, roles and responsibilities of the positions they were elected to hold. For example... They continue to try to publicly perpetuate the myth their actions were taken as a result of a contract dispute. I have yet to see any one of them answer some very simple questions about the events of 12/8/2010, the day they voted to with draw PACT's recognition. Is it true that the PCSSD Negotiating Team and PACT had reached a tentative agreement on a new contract and which PACT ratified prior to 12/8? Are they saying PACT is disputing a contract that had already approved? Why did they call a special Board meeting that had an agenda item on it to ratify the contract before the regularly scheduled meeting that night and then take no action to ratify the agreement? Couple this with the Legislative audit on their spending practices, the hundreds of thousands of dollars or more of legal fees they have spent going to court at least three times to be told the same thing...to understand and follow the law that is in place to do what you are trying to accomplish, 97K to buy the latest and greatest in techno tools for their Boardroom that is used a couple of times per month, and god knows how much on the "Taj Mahal" being built in Maumelle while Jacksonville High students give them a powerpoint presentation on the abysmal condition of their school. How can you be a part of the solution when you don't have the slightest knowledge of or concern for what the real issues are? The next petition that needs to be signed is the one requesting a law be that allows us to recall Board of Edcuation members of this caliber.
