LITTLE ROCK, AR-- The attic is where a lot of unwanted heat gets inside. Therefore, the Arkansas Electric Cooperatives advises consumers to take control of their energy bills by sealing it off.

Spokesperson Bret Curry tells homeowners to use attic tents.

"This shiny barrier is called a radiant barrier and it causes the radiant heat to reflect back to space," said Curry.

Curry says the tents costs about $200 dollars. Though pricey, Curry says the material makes a big difference in creating comfort for the house and telling the thermostat not to run as much.
