LITTLE ROCK, AR - The legal showdown surrounding an Arkansas law that would ban abortion at 12-weeks begins today.
The American Civil Liberties Union is scheduled to appear in federal court in Little Rock. They plan to ask a judge to stop an Arkansas law banning abortion care starting at 12-weeks of pregnancy from taking effect.
The law was passed in March when the Arkansas legislature overrode Governor Mike Beebe's veto of the bill.
The ban goes into effect August 16th.
