Getting a dog or cat from a local shelter that needs a home might be smarter than bringing floppy-eared rabbits and soft baby chicks home as part of the holiday.
With Easter just weeks away, a lot of people will think about getting a floppy-eared rabbit or soft baby chick to celebrate the holiday.

But one vet recommends that if you're ready to bring a new pet into the family, there are many dogs and cats at your local shelter that need homes.

Veterinarian Blair Willman-Hauk talks with Good Day's Deedra Wilson about holiday-themed pets.
