Little Rock, AR -- Hope each and everyone of you who didn't have to work yesterday had a great Labor Day holiday.
But did you stop and think about what the holiday really means? Back in the day it was a time to honor and show respect for America's organized labor, specifically unions.
But over the years, unions have been in a sharp decline. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2012 the number of union members fell to 14.3 million -- the lowest level since 1916.
The reasons a number of states have enacted right to work laws... Employers who are against union formations. The list goes on.
But don't get me wrong, some unions do serve a valuable purpose. and have been able to get union members better pay, beneifits and working conditions.
So -- what's the future hold for unions? Who's to blame for the decline?
Are unions on their way out?
