If you're looking for fun and family friendly Mardi Gras Events, Sync Weekly's Melissa Tucker recommends the SOMA Mardi Gras parade.

It'll roll down Main street, Saturday, Feb. 9 As of Jan. 31 there were more than 20 floats registered and Oxford American publisher Warwick Sabin, this year's grand marshal.
