The Arkansas Children's Hospital wants to make sure no kids go hungry.
A new survey shows 20% of patients treated at the hospital experience food insecurity.
It happens when families cannot afford enough food for both parents and children to lead active healthy lives.
Now children's is offering on-site assistance for its supplement nutrition program also called snap.
A fully dedicated mobile enrollment office will be parked on campus tomorrow and Thursday from 10:00am to 3:00pm to help families apply for snap.
Artery Calcium risk
The amount of calcium in your coronary arteries can predict your heart disease risk.
Wake forest university researchers studied more than 13-hundred people.
They compared six cardiovascular risk markers including coronary artery calcium, which they measured by using a ct imaging scan.
Results show coronary artery calcium had the strongest association to cardiovascular disease.
Researchers say coronary artery calcium could be used as a tool to help predict heart disease risk in people with additional risk factors.
Drought Conference
Here's something most parents won't be thrilled to hear.
Sociologists say binge drinkers are happier with their college experience and social life than their non-drinking peers.
They also learned binging is associated with social power.
Sociologists who conducted the study say most students who binge drink do it to fit in.
However under aged drinking is illegal and the best advice to anyone is to drink responsibly and in moderation.
