The number of kids diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder jumped 24 percent in ten years.

The study found rates rose most among minority kids -- climbing nearly 70 percent overall in black children -- and 60 percent among Hispanic youngsters.

Among black girls, ADHD rates jumped 90 percent.

The biggest factor driving this increase may be the heightened awareness of ADHD among parents, teachers, and pediatricians.

The earlier a diagnosis is made, the earlier doctors can treat it, which leads to a better outcome for the child.

Pregnant with the flu

This flu season has hit the country hard, with 30 states reporting widespread illness in people who've caught the virus.

Most people who fall sick can head straight to the drug store. But when you're expecting a baby, forget those familiar flu drugs.

Avoid ibuprofen, and most over-the-counter cough and cold medicines, until talking with your obstetrician, experts say.

So what can you do for the flu if there's a baby in your belly?

Stay in bed, stick to saline sprays and the Neti pot nasal rinse and drink lots of fluids.

The centers for disease control and prevention recommends taking Tylenol to reduce a fever.

A pregnant woman is more likely to suffer from severe illness from the flu because of changes to her immune system, heart and lungs.

Asthma in the workplace

The type of job you have may increase your risk for developing asthma as researchers found 18 occupations with a strong link to increased asthma risk.

Anyone working with cleaning or cleaning agents quadrupled their risk. Printing tripled that risk and hairdressing doubled it.

The team notes overall one in six people could associate their adult onset asthma with their job.
