The FDA approves Abraxane as a first-line treatment for the most common form of lung cancer.
The drug can be used only along with Carbo-Platin a form of chemotherapy in patients who are not candidates for surgery or radiation therapy.
The approval is based on a study where those on Abraxane plus Carbo-Platin demonstrated a higher overall response rate to therapy then those on another drug.
Among the most common adverse reactions to the treatment are anemia, nausea and fatigue.
Costume Safety Tips
It's time to start thinking about that Halloween costume for your child.
And the American Academy Of Pediatrics hopes you'll take a look at their "Kid Costume Safety Tips."
The doctors group suggests making sure your child's costume is flame retardant, and the accessories should be flame retardant as well.
Also make sure it can be seen in the dark.
The doctor's group says avoid using decorative contacts, unless you're given approval after an exam by an eye-care professional.
