A new study finds a link between babies born by caesarean section and childhood obesity.
Nearly 16% of children in the study delivered via c-section were obese by age three, compared with over seven-percent of those born vaginally.
The exact cause of the findings isn't yet clear and more research needs to be done.
Researchers speculate different modes of delivery may influence bacteria in the gut at birth, which can influence calories and nutrients, ultimately leading to obesity.
Another possibility: different hormones released during labor may also influence obesity.
