Today is Arkansas Grandparent Caregiver Day.
And one network wants people to be aware of the important role grandparents play in a child's life.
The Arkansas Kinship Caregiver Network met this morning in the capitol rotunda.
It's a new peer-led advocacy coalition of grandparent and relative caregivers.
Right now nearly 70,000 Arkansas children live with a grandparent, including those in foster care placement.
And more than a third of them live in poverty.
Coalition members' main goal is to give caretakers the resources they need to live a quality life.
Breast Cancer Radiation
A new approach to radiation therapy for breast cancer could be a safer one.
A study out of New York University shows changing the position of a patient during radiation may reduce the risks of heart and lung problems later on.
The study suggests the prone, or face-down position may be better for most women.
The prone position was linked to less exposure of the lungs in all patients.
And in those with cancer of the left breast, the prone position was linked to a reduced exposure to the heart.
