Plan BThe FDA approves a new generic version of "Plan B" known as the morning after pill. This version of the emergency contraceptive will be available by prescription only for underage females. In 2006 the FDA approved Plan B for non-prescription use for women eighteen and older. The generic is also available to underage females with a prescription. FDA officials say they can prevent pregnancy if taken with 72 hours after unprotected sex. Child Abuse and Cancer A new study suggests your chances of developing cancer can be traced back to childhood. Canadian researchers have linked childhood physical abuse to increased cancer rates during adulthood. Their study shows people who are physically abused as children are almost 50 more likely to develop cancer later in life. Researchers say hormonal dysfunction that prepares the body for 'fight or flight' may help further explain the link.
