Egg Allergy

There may be a treatment for people allergic to eggs.

That's according to a new study by researchers at UAMS and Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Children with egg allergies were given pills with increasing amounts of egg white powder.

This video comes from the Cleveland Clinic also part of the study.

Researchers say many who received the doses could eventually eat foods containing egg without getting an allergic reaction.

In a few cases, children even appeared to have outgrown the egg allergy - weeks after the daily doses were stopped.

Women and Stressful Jobs

Women with demanding jobs who have few opportunities to make decisions may be at an increased risk for heart attacks.

Researchers analyzed 22,000 women over ten years, regarding their job strain and insecurity.

They discovered women with high job strain were nearly 40% more likely to have heart-related problems.

Women with highly stressful jobs who had a lot of control over their work also had a higher risk of cardio vascular problems.

Physical inactivity

Physical in-activity causes just as many deaths as smoking.

Researchers say physical inactivity has become such a problem that it should be viewed and treated as a pandemic.

To combat the crisis, health officials propose warning the public more about the dangers of not exercising, instead of telling them the health benefits of being active.
