State health officials say another Arkansan has died from the flu virus. That brings the total number of flu deaths in the state to 19.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Arkansas' flu activity level remains high.

We want to remind all Arkansans it's not too late to get vaccinated. Flu shots are being offered in every local health unit in the state.

Doctors say if you get a flu shot, it takes two weeks to kick in.

Storm clouds may contain microbial life

Those storm clouds carry more than rain, they also contain microbial life.

Researchers say these microbes tend to reside on plants as well as thousands of organic compounds normally found in soil. Some of these bacteria can seed the tiny ice crystals that lead to rain, suggesting they play a role in causing rain.

Study authors say storm clouds grab huge amounts of air from under the clouds. They believe that's how the bacteria gets into the cloud and then is dispersed all over the earth.

Curb late night snacking

Many try to avoid late night snacking to no avail.

A recent survey found a large percentage of us average a little over two snacks a day. And dietitians say while we may try to curb those urges there are some simple tricks -- such as brushing your teeth immediately after you eat -- that may help you snack less.

Andrea Rumschlag, R.D. with Cleveland Clinic says, "When you're done with your dinner or your last meal of the evening, go brush your teeth immediately. Get the last sensation of your dinner or snack away from you so you can change your mind and not really be thinking about it anymore."

Another trick is to make sure you're busy in the evening since many of us eat late-night-snacks out of boredom or stress.

And if all else fails you might even want to consider an earlier bedtime.
