Candy hearts aren't the only ones you should be thinking about during the month of February, because it is actually National Heart Health Month.
Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for 1 out of every 3 deaths according to the CDC.
Experts say it's never too late to change a habit, so things like eating five vegetables a day, or moving for ten minutes a day can come easily.
Abused children
Researchers say the thousands of children who end up in the hospital because of child abuse are just the "tip of the iceberg."
The Yale study determined the rates of hospital visits based on kids ages.
They found the highest risk is for infants.
Health experts believe these numbers are just a small sample because not all abused children end up in the hospital.
Children covered by Medicaid were about six times more likely to be victims of serious abuse.
Plan B Vending Machine
The majority of colleges have vending machines that make it quick and easy for students to grab a snack or drink on the way to class.
But a university in Pennsylvania is now offering Plan B pills in a health center vending machine.
Shippensberg University is offering the emergency contraception for just 25 dollars.
“We had some conversations with them and they did a survey of the student body and we got an 85% response rate that the students supported Plan B in the house center,” Dr. Serr said.
The university does not make a profit from the machines, so the idea is to make buying it more comfortable to students.
University doctors say up to 400 doses are sold each year to female students.
