Mammogram rates drop

The number of women in their forties getting routine mammograms has dropped since the US Preventive Services Task Force revised their recommendations.

In 2009 the task force changed their recommendation saying women in their forties didn't need annual mammograms.

The revision resulted in a 6% decline in mammography rates nationwide.

This conflicts with recommendations of the mayo clinic and the American Cancer Society who say all women over 40 have an annual mammogram.

Coffee and Heart Health

That daily cup of Joe you drink to get an energy boost may give your heart a helpful boost as well.

Researchers say about two eight-ounce caffeinated cups of coffee daily may decrease heart failure risk by up to 11%.

However drinking more than four or five cups a day could raise the risk of developing heart problems.

Study authors say their findings show most people should feel free to enjoy coffee within limits.
