Whole Foods is recalling a lot of wild Alaskan salmon because of the threat of listeria.

The Food and Drug Administration says the recall was announced after a sample tested positive for the bacteria. The recalled product was sold in stores in a dozen states.

Listeria can cause a fatal infection in young kids, the frail or elderly, or people with compromised immune systems.

The recall notice says no illnesses have been reported.

Smokers make good donors

You might think that heavy smokers make for bad lung donors.

A new a study finds donors who smoked more than a pack of cigarettes a day for more than 20 years were still strong candidates for double lung transplant donors.

Researchers also found patients who received lungs from smokers had similar short and medium term survival rates as those who received lungs from people who did not smoke heavily.

Stress busting foods

The saying "eat something you'll feel better" may actually have some truth to it.

Certain foods may help ease tension.

Dietitians say dark green, leafy vegetables are high in dietary fiber and help stabilize your energy levels, which can help calm your nerves.

They say when we feel stress, our sweet tooth may get the best of us.

So instead of grabbing a cookie or a cake, try some sweet potatoes. And blueberries can be a great snack as well.

Amy Jamieson-Petonic, R.D says, "Blueberries are high in a pigment called anthocyanins. It's an antioxidant that really helps to calm your nerves. It helps to stabilize your blood-sugar levels and it gives you a more stable energy throughout the day."

Jamieson-Petonic says when your stress level goes up your vitamin c level comes down, so eating foods like oranges or grapefruits may also help.
