Lung cancer kills more Arkansans than prostate and breast cancer combined.
That's why the coalition for a tobacco-free Arkansas wants all smokers to put down cigarettes during lung cancer awareness month.
20,000 – 30,000 people who don't smoke are diagnosed with lung cancer every year from the effects of second hand smoke.
The coalition for a tobacco free Arkansas says it would also like to see smoke-free areas in the state expand during the upcoming legislative session.
AED Campaign
How would you "Like" to help save a life?
You can - and you can do it with a simple click of your mouse.
Ben Wellons of E-Med healthcare is launching a "Likes for Life" campaign.
His medical company is focused on giving back to the community - especially schools.
So right now, he's giving away at least three free automated external defibrillators" to local schools.
All you have to do is "like" the company's Facebook page.
Despite a state mandate that requires at least one AED be at all schools, Wellons says the demand for more - especially in school gyms and practice fields - is still a top priority.
