Tylenol recall, Flu season, Autism scan

Doctors say flu season is finally here, the slowest start in almost 25 years.

Until February, there were not enough flu cases to officially consider it flu season. Usually the season starts in December or January, and often by February it is almost halfway over.

CDC officials don’t know why this season was slow, but it could be a combination of factors, one of which, the flu vaccine being a good match for the strain people are getting.

Researchers say brain symptoms that can lead to autism spectrum disorder may be detected in kids as young as 6-months-old.

Doctors used MRI brain scans to look at brain development in kids at six months, one, and two-years-old. The scans show the brain’s “white matter” development was different from infants who did not develop the condition compared to those who did.

Study authors say they do not know if these changes occur in all autistic children.
