It's caused by the swelling of blood vessels.

It's happens for many reasons including colds, the flu or allergies. Even some illnesses like the whooping cough can give you a stuffy nose.

Nasal sprays can help - but if you overdo it - it can make matters worse.

See a doctor if you have pain, your stuffy nose lasts longer than 10 days, you have blood or nasal discharge or if you have asthma or emphysema.
