LITTLE ROCK, AR -- From the looks and sounds inside the Clinton Presidential Center Saturday evening, you'd think it's the 1992 presidential campaign, and it's Governor Bill Clinton is trying to get to the Oval Office.
But fast forward two decades, and the Arkansas Travelers -- credited for pumping life into Mr. Clinton's campaign -- reflect on their hard work and dedication to get him elected. Sheila Bronfman is one of the original Arkansas Travelers.
"We all had been campaigning for him for years in Arkansas. We'd done five elections. We knew how to do it, Bronfman said.
She said the Travelers brought the heat during that cold month during the New Hampshire primaries. Made up of people from all walks of life, they crisscrossed the Granite State and others, spending their own money for travel, food and hotels.
"He was a close friend and we knew he'd make a great President. He proved us all right," Bronfman said.
"We were headed down to single digits and they turned it around in a matter of days," President Clinton said.
President Clinton said their work can't be forgotten. He thanked them for their work in the 1992 and 1996 elections, and he wouldn't have been Commander-in-Chief without them.
"Look at the results we made," President Clinton said.
The Arkansas Travelers said could do it all again -- in 2016 if they had to -- for Secretary of State and former First Lady Hillary Clinton. All she has to do is tell them when and where.
