LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Pulaski Circuit/County Clerk is warning voters to ignore a chain emails that claim "the voting rules have changed" and urging them not to forward the email to others.

The email goes on to imply that individuals who haven’t voted since the 2008 presidential election are now ineligible to vote and have to re-register.

When asked about the email, Pulaski Circuit/County Clerk Larry Crane said, “That’s completely false. If you’ve voted in Pulaski County at any time since the end of 2007, you’ll be able to vote in the elections this fall. That includes people who voted in the 2008 presidential election. If you’ve moved within Pulaski County since you last voted, please give our office a call at 340-8683 so we can update your voting address. Otherwise, just come out and vote.”

The clerk’s office is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of voter registration records in Pulaski County.

With the 2012 general election just over two months away, Mr. Crane is encouraging Pulaski County residents to register to vote.

“I want to make sure that people are ready to make their voices heard. You can only vote if you’ve registered ahead of time,” said Mr. Crane.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election is Oct. 9.

Voter registration applications are available from the clerk’s website, www.pulaskiclerk.com, or at local libraries, State Revenue Offices, and the clerk’s office. Registered Pulaski County voters can also click the “Check Your Voter Information” link on the clerk’s homepage to verify their registration information or locate their polling place.

This fall is shaping up to be a busy election season in Pulaski County. Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election will begin on Oct. 22. In addition to that hotly-anticipated election, several lower-profile elections are on the schedule this fall:
  • Little Rock special bond election -Sep. 11 (early voting begins Sep. 4)
  • School board elections-Sep. 18 (early voting begins Sep. 11)
  • Maumelle special bond election-Oct. 9 (early voting begins Oct. 2)

Forwards are one of the most prolific ways for nasty things to get around the 'net; I delete them without opening them, period. Wife has an "aunt" that enjoys forwarding things, especially religious material. I have a Bible thank you, that's all I need to read when it comes to religion.
