FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — The Sebastian County clerk who faces a harassment lawsuit filed by employees has lost his bid for another two-year term.

Ken Blevins was beaten in the Republican primary by Denora Coomer, a circuit court administrator. Coomer will face Democrat and Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk Kathy Guthrie in the Nov. 6 general election.

The Southwest Times Record reports three deputy clerks and a former deputy clerk have filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Blevins. Lawyers for the clerks say the lawsuit will go forward even though Blevins was defeated.

Blevins has denied the accusations. Trial is set for January.

Blevins wasn't in his office on Wednesday. His mother told the paper he was out picking up campaign signs.
