LITTLE ROCK, AR - Representative Mark McElroy received treatment over the weekend for a “medical episode” he suffered on the House floor Friday morning.

McElroy had to be escorted from the chamber after he gave an incoherent speech on the floor. In a statement, McElroy says he was diagnosed with a non-life threatening condition. “I truly regret the timing of the incident. However, I am now receiving proper treatment and doctors are confident this will prevent any future episodes.”

McElroy is expected to return to the House floor later in the week.
